Workshops
The principle of "learning by doing" has long been a part of the Participatory Design Conference. To this end, PDC 2006 offers an exciting and varied programme of workshops. Contributions range from hands on explorations of methodological innovations, to the production of participatory TV broadcasts and artworks. There are discussions of the importance of boundaries, the
relationships between international development, e-democracy and participatory design, and sessions where participants are invited to write, review and explore position papers, e.g. on the participatory design of CSCW technologies in healthcare. We received and accepted 17 high-calibre proposals from applicants in academia, art, non-profit organisations (Overseas Development Institute), and industry (the BBC, IDEO, Pitney Bowes).
Due to the competition for workshops, we would like to ask prospective participants to register early, taking advantage of the early bird registration deadline. Participation incurs an additional fee of 25 Euros (this is to cover catering and equipment costs).
Unless noted otherwise, each workshop requires a Statement of interest and registration.
