Admission

Requirements
Attendance is open to participants from all over the world. Applicants are mostly expected to be PhD students, young researchers at the doctoral level or personnel involved in institutions and/or companies operating in the field of meteorology.

Application
Applications must be submitted by 7 May 2004 by filling in the Online Application Form available on the School web page: http://web.unitn.it/ssmm.
Applicants will be selected and admitted to the School on the basis of documented background and proficiency in atmospheric sciences and/or related disciplines. Letters of recommendation by supervisors, directors of institutions, etc. written on official paper must be mailed or faxed to the SSMM secretariat (see address and fax number below).

Selection
Applications will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail about admission by 31 May 2004.

Confirmation of acceptance
Admitted participants will have to confirm their participation by payment of the required registration fee by 15 June 2004 by the method that will be specified on the notification of admission.

Registration fee
The registration fee is 600,00 EURO and includes:
Attendance to lectures and afternoon discussions
Icebreaker party (Sunday 25 July Afternoon)
Lunches following lectures
Cable-car weekly pass
Lecture notes.
Partial or total exemption from the participation fee, as well as possible financial support for travel and living expenses to participants, who are not supported by their own Institutions, may become available upon contribution to the School from external agencies from which the Organizers have requested sponsorship.
Applicants requesting fee exemption and/or financial support must specify their request in the Online Application Form. Their Institutions will have to confirm that no funding is available to cover their participation in the School by mailing or faxing a letter on official letterhead to the School secretariat.

Refunding policy
Registration fees will only be refunded, if the notice of cancellation is received by the School Secretary before 30 June 2004. In any case the cancellation fee is 100,00 EURO.
